What it changes

Surfbase writes each listed product's title, description, spec details and size options. The spec unit decides how dimensions read there. In inch/f a shortboard reads 6'2" long and 19 1/2" wide. In mm the same board reads in millimetres.

The choices are:

  • inch/f: feet and inches with fractions, the way most shapers write.
  • inch: decimal inches.
  • cm or mm: metric.

It starts as the unit of the person who connected the store, or inch/f.

Steps

  1. Open the Shopify settings

Go to Settings, then Integrations, and select Manage next to Shopify.

  2. Find How listings are written

Scroll to How listings are written.

  3. Pick a unit

Choose a unit from Spec unit.

  4. Save it

Select Save spec unit. Every listed product is re-sent to Shopify in the new unit.

If something goes wrong

Only team owners and admins can change the spec unit. If the select is greyed out, ask one of them.
