Resize a design or a whole size run

Make one new size of a board, or a full run of lengths, with every outline overlaid to scale first.

Before you start

The design needs a saved spec. Every size you create becomes its own design and counts towards your plan's active designs.

Steps

  1. Open Resize

Open the design, select More actions, then Resize.

  2. Choose what to make

Under What to make, pick One size or A range.

  3. Set the sizes

For One size, type the new Length. Width and Thickness follow the length until you set them yourself. For A range, set Shortest and Longest, for example 5'6" to 6'2", and the Step between sizes, such as 2".

  4. Decide how width and thickness change

For a range, set Width and Thickness to Keep proportions or Fixed step per size. Extra widths per length adds wider and narrower versions of each length.

  5. Set the shape

Rocker can follow the length, stay unchanged or change by a set amount. Fin marks can move with the board or stay where they are.

  6. Choose where they go

Under Where they go, add the new boards to All designs, an existing collection, or a new one.

  7. Create them

Check the overlay and the Sizes list, then select Create sizes. The button shows how many designs it will make.

If something goes wrong

If you see This run needs more design slots, the run would take you past your plan's active designs. Leave some sizes out, or move unused designs to Trash.
