What the stations are
Surfbase measures a surfboard the way a shaper does. N12 is the width 12" back from the nose and T12 is the width 12" up from the tail. WP is the wide point: how far the widest part sits from centre, with plus meaning forward.
Steps
-
Open the editor
Open the design and select Edit design.
-
Choose your unit
In the Dimensions section, pick a unit from Units: inch/f for fractions like 19 1/2", or inch, cm or mm.
-
Set the outline
Under Outline, type Nose width (N12), Tail width (T12) and Wide point. Press Enter to apply a value, or Escape to cancel.
-
Set the foil
Under Foil, type Nose thickness and Tail thickness. These are measured at the same 12" stations, and the Slices tab opens on the matching slice.
-
Save
Select Save.
If something goes wrong
- A value outside a field's range is pulled back to the nearest limit. Nose and tail widths run from 5" to 24".
- If the fields are hidden, the board is shaped from an imported or shaped model. Select Detach & edit dimensions to type values. Restore shape brings the model back.
- On a bodyboard, Nose width and Tail width are measured across the tips, and the wide point is set as Nose to wide point.
