Email a customer

Send a customer an email from their page in Surfbase, with replies going to your shop's own inbox.

Basic, Pro and Business Updated
On this page 4 sections

Before you start

The customer needs an email address on file. If the Email button is missing, select More actions, then Edit customer, and add one.

Steps

  1. Open the customer

Go to Customers and open their page.

  2. Start the email

    Select Email.

  3. Write it

Type a Subject and your Message. The subject can be up to 200 characters.

  4. Send it

Select Send email. A copy is saved to the customer's Activity, so the whole team can see what was sent and when.

Where replies go

Surfbase doesn't receive email, so replies go to an inbox you read. It uses the first of these that's set:

  • The Contact email on your online store, under Storefront.
  • The Contact line under Settings, then Branding, if it's an email address.
  • Your own email address.

Other emails customers get from you

  • Payment links, from the order.
  • Invoices, with Email to customer on the invoice.
  • Replies to store enquiries, from Sales & Enquiries.
